Tonight we said goodbye-for now-to one of our favorite Senior couples.  Elder and Sister Schow served in St. John's for a year and are now on their way home to Alberta.  We got to go to Newfoundland last August for a Zone Conference in Gander and then back to St. John's with the Schows to spend the weekend and to do some sightseeing of this unique island called "the rock".  We had a great time and laughed and laughed and laughed.  We will miss them.

Our Story--

We are on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia!!  We have been here since the 15th of June 2018.  We were called as office support for the Canada Halifax Mission and since our arrival on day one we have been busy, busy, busy learning our responsibilities and duties in the office---many of which have deadlines.  My goal since receiving our call has been to keep a blog of our experiences and here we are almost 8 months later just now getting started.  Lots of things have changed in our lives since a year ago and I want to go back and start at the beginning of this journey and make sure that we can have this record of our adventures and share it with our family and friends.  So at times I will record what we are doing currently and other times go back in time and try to do some catch up.  We love what we are doing and where we are.  Who knew there was this amazing place called Atlantic Canada!!!

Today was another busy day in the office with a Senior District Meeting with all the other Senior Couples.  Most of the couples are spread all over the Mission so we can't all get together once a week so we hold our meetings over the internet with the help of something called Zoom.  Some of the couples we have yet to meet in person, so it is great to see them and talk to them weekly with the help of technology.  Right after that meeting ends we have a weekly Monday office meeting with President and Sister Low and the other couple in the office, Elder and Sister Majeran, and the Mission Nurse, Sister Arnold.  I usually come out of that meeting with several assignments that supersede the plans that I already had of things that needed to be done.  Today it was booking some travel for an emergency transfer that needed to take place.  A missionary needed to go home so we needed to bring another missionary over from the rock of Newfoundland to take her place in Greenfield.  Any travel from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland involves either a flight or an all night ferry ride.  

In between getting my work done, Elder Boyle and I were also making brownies (Costco style) in the mission office kitchen to take to a baptism in the Halifax YSA Branch which we attend.  It was the 2nd baptism in the Branch in the new year.  His name is Promise Opera from Nigeria living in Canada as a student.  After the baptism we had treats and Elder Boyle and Elder Livingstone cooked Jdawgs with the Jdawg sauce Elder Boyle brought from Utah.  We are now home-tired-and ready to go to bed to get ready for another day tomorrow.
